Duets for Violin Duo – Volume I

Fred Onovwerosuoke

Score

Description This volume of violin duets, and hopefully more to come, will ensure that preeminent names like J.H. Kwabena Nketia, Akin Euba, Joshua Uzoigwe, Halim El-Dabh, Gamal Abdel-Raheem, and many others, are not forgotten. Their existing works deserve study and appreciation alongside other great composers and thinkers. These pieces are offered as additional literature for the large constituent of violinists out there looking for works that are refreshing, nuanced in multiculturalism; "works that employ familiar performance techniques to explore new musical and cultural horizons." Finally, as the saying goes, what's good for the violin is also good for other C-instruments; so, hopefully, these works would be repurposed for flute and oboe in future publications. For now, violinists may enjoy!
